Christy,
The tutorial series is aimed at people who are just starting in AIML, i.e have no idea what it is or how to go about using it. Part 1 simply introduces the concept of AIML and categories.
I would suggest getting a copy of Dr Rich's book, available from the alicebot.org site if needing a more advanced guide.
The major problem l found in picking up AIML (and still on a learning curve with it), was there was no beginners resources available for those of us who don't have a major amount of time per day to tackle the subject.
Cheers,
Jeff

Dear Jeff,
That would be good. I am glad to say that the first tutorial is of no help
at all - I already know that! I know, however, there will be topics in the
future that would help me. What I would love is a listing of solutions to
questions of how to achieve a creative application. Many questions on these
lists ask for help on a particular application (eg: How do answer the same
question differently according to a topic?). These are the one I cut and paste
and keep for future reference. I know these are there to be searched but
sometimes a person explains it in a different way. We need an alicebot tutor!
Thanks Jeff,
Christy
