Hopefully whenever libgaim is fully complete with documented you should see more IM client interoperability with AIML interpreters.

Subject: [alicebot-general] Jabber AIML Bot?
Hello,
I was just looking again at the various bot implementations out there,
and the only Jabber client interface I see is the somewhat old Howie or
a plugin for Trillian. Since I use Linux and Howie doesn't seem to be
developed any more, are there any other choices I missed?
(Howie works fine in AIM but doesn't seem to like Google Talk's Jabber
server... and there is no documentation on how to exit the dang thing.)
What I'm looking for is a bot with a Jabber interface, preferably in
Perl, but Python will do, or barring those, I'll deal with anything that
works. It REALLY should support Jabber's TLS if at all possible.
Basically it will be used as an info bot and light entertainment for an
internal company IM server. I'd like to use something off the shelf, if
one exists or can be modified to work. Hence this post.
So... is there such an animal or should I try to merge ProgramV with
Net::Jabber?
Thanks in advance,
Brian
