Hi,

Yes, that's a valid point.

So maybe the system could have some way of telling people how honest
the conversation profile is.  One might use something like the
reputation system used by eBay.

An honest conversation profile can go a long way to making yourself
known in a good way.  It's sort of like spreading an approximation of
yourself as a meme.  Interesting things can happen.

I think chat bot technology would be quite relevant here and in fact
this idea bares some resemblance to celebrity bots.  You can also use
more conventional chat bots to seed the system initially where you may
not have many people available to chat with yet.  By interacting with
a more conventional chat bot, you can build a personality profile that
can then be used to interact with people and/or their bots.

In any case, if you might be interested in joining me in a startup to
build something like this, please let me know.   I envision a service
that is quite general, not just specific to online dating.  Perhaps it
would compete with social networks.
