Hi Christopher,
In AIMLpad you can load the AIML into the editor and then use the search
option to edit the categories one at a time. If you want the complete list
of patterns, just switch the drop down on the search to "Starts With" and
leave the matching pattern blank.
Remembering where you left off is another matter. I'll have to add that to
the tool.
In fact let me know what you want and I'll try to incorporate it. I have a
few limitations like color coding the tags. I've been seriously considering
completely switching over to eclipse. In that framework I can be more
graphical. AIMLpad is weak on organizing the sets of categories so you can
build a taxonomy to help not get lost in the sheer number of parts.
About the only advice I can give that is easy enough - break the 20,000+
lines up into smaller AIML files.
Thanks for trying AIMLpad,

Hello,
What is your favorite AIML editor? I currently use Dreamweaver
(without any installed support for AIML) or Wordpad. Sometimes I use a
regular text editor on my Linux machine. Is there a tool out there
that makes editing 20,000+ lines of AIML less intense feeling? Perhaps
editing only one category at a time and saving where you left off? I
don't mind sifting through the lines, but would like something more
easy going.
One program I am toying with now is AIMLpad. It has some nice
features, but I haven't dived too far into it yet.
Thank you for your input.
