Hello Dr. Wallace,

I am the head of development at Umanify Lab, a start-up company
located in Barcelona, Spain. (http://www.umanify.com)

Our facial technology uses life-like characters with TTS/ASR in real time. Although we are in Beta
state in our Lab and a lot of things should be improved, you can see first video demos:

http://www.umanify.com/demos.htm

Our umanify technology will be integrated in Internet, Mobile phones, PDA's, home automation, cars, information kiosks, e-learning, ecommerce, etc applications.

Also we are developing an AI engine with a lot of new possibilites and extensions for our new "digital personas". This engine includes emotional, basic logical deduction, persistent memory and autonomus initiative modules. This AI engine is not based in your current AIML parsers but at the moment, it will be compatible with AIML 1.01 sets (like Alice) and other script languages.

Cheers,
Francisco Martin B.

PS: we don't use 3D or cartoon models, we need only need a simple 2D portrait photography to create new digital personas...
