I'm an avid Java developer. I use it all day long at
work. I use C++ at home to keep my skills up. I have
no hangups about coding things in Java since I do it
8+ hours a day.

I'd hate to get about 5 months in development to only
find that editor framework xyz lacks feature abc and
I'd have to switch it out.

Besides I'm already modeling most of my code off the
kdelibs (only I'm using QT 4.x and not 3.x.x) so I
have most of what I need. That's the beauty of GPL, I
can reuse code from the kdelibs without pulling in the
full kdelibs (I don't want *all* the kdelibs to be
installed as a prerequisite)

However, anyone else can always implement a GPL AIML
editor in their choice of framework and reuse any of
my code/logic from mine since it's GPL. That's the
greatness of GPL there's no competition. If someone
else implements something better in GPL I have the
right to take their code and reuse it.

This, however, is starting to get into the classic
text editor flame wars and I don't go there.

I use editors on a daily basis raning from:

* Eclipse
* Intelli-j
* vim
* Visual Studio
* NotePad++

The main thing is to chose the editor at the time you
need that editor's features and swap it out for
another when you need another's features. None
stasify all of anyone's needs and never will.

One Editor to rule them all,
One Editor to find them,
One Editor to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
