Dear All,

I am new to the list and have done a bit of homework on Program E before posting:

	(1)  Reviewed the alicebot mailing list archives;
	(2)  Performed a wide Google search on the topic;
	(3)  Installed a Program E version ("Gollum") with vB on the UNIX.COM forums;
	(4)  Surveyed and read quite a few of the documents on alicebot.com;
	(5)  Reviewed the Program E source code;
	(6)  Started a diagram of the internal software architecture of Program E;
	(7)  Briefed a major R&D organization on ALICE;
	(8) Exchanged email with Dr. Wallace on the above.

Dr. Wallace suggested I post here, so here goes....

FYI, I began this quest with the goal of finding a bot to help with forum moderator duties at UNIX.COM, so our human mods could eventually focus on less mundane answer to questions (and the ALICE-style bot would be an type of advanced automated FAQ responder).

I have been inspired by great promise in ALICE/AIML and wanted to say the obvious, thank you and great job, and wanted to see if we can get the "Program E" development reenergized. Here what I have started to do in my spare time recently:

	(a) Search to find (and fund, initially, out of my pocket) an "offshore" PHP expert to fix the current errors in the code (there are quite a few errors in the httpd log file based on problems in the code-base we are using with vB).

	(b) Begin efforts to graphically illustrate the internals of the software architecture to make modifications and updates easier and faster.

In addition, I can offer collaborative discussion space at the UNIX.COM forums (if anyone is interested and this would be helpful).

I look forward to any replies.

Yours sincerely,

"Neo"
