CyN - New experimental Cyc enabled AIML Interpreter
CYc + program N = CyN

This note is to announce a new modification to the Program N AIML
interpreter, a.k.a. AIMLpad, done by Daxtron Labs called CyN. CyN lets AIML
developers access the OpenCyc inference engine, while at the same time
allowing OpenCyc developers access to a AIML driven natural language front
end. The result is the unique ability to perform logical inference, provide
for personality scripting, reasoning about information resources, and
integrate elements of large-scale pattern matching engines with large-scale
inference engines and information sources.

The goal of CyN:

*provide a pattern based parser for use with OpenCyc suitable for chatbots /
virtual human experimentation and basic knowledge entry of logical
relationships
*be an interpreter that allowed an easy way to interface AIML to OpenCyc
*create a set of example AIML categories to answer questions using OpenCyc
*provide a tool for experimentation with both systems
*provide a natural language front-end ahead of the current OpenCyc schedule
*be a tool capable of creating a "personality" for OpenCyc systems
*be a scaleable tool (AIML sets have 40,000 language patterns and full Cyc
has 1.6 million facts)
*be a tool that can be integrated with other systems
*be open;  based on Program N it is free to download, modify and reuse

In addition to the OpenCyc access it also provides a nano-IRC client.
