I think the merging is an issue and would be more easy to not  have this
feature.

My point of view about the merge:

The merging shall not exists at all because it just add confusion.
I see it as a patch for aiml files that haves same categories here and
there.
By design the aiml interpreter matches one and only one pattern. The merge
feature helped us by combining automatically same patterns into one unique
pattern.
I mean, the botmaster shall not have duplicated patterns at all, and it is
his task to adjust the design error.
So every duplicated category shall not be loaded and the interpreter shall
give a message for every duplicated category not loaded, in this way the
botmaster could repair the error.

what's your thought ?
