I'd certainly not post anything on the mailing list. Most likely I'd link to
a page on AIML.info to circumvent the licence.

Completely agree here, a licence would only complicate things for the AIML
scripter (commercial or not) and the AIF. So, public domain is in my opinion
the best course of action.

Sadly it doesn't mean public domain either. Take a look at the site of GNU
for confusing terms, "free software" is among them. I also agree that the
absence of a license doesn't make things easier either.

It's the situation we're currently in. Whether that be because people
haven't taken the time to go over the implications or just forgot it doesn't
matter that much. It needs to be dealt with and this forum seems to be the
best to discuss it in.

I hope we can sort this out peacefully.
