If it's not public domain, then all my examples would have been posted under
false pretences, and I certainly wouldn't post examples in the future. The
GPL (or any other licence) has no advantages here. Just because on the
mailing list it states that all posted example are assumed to be free
software does not imply the existence of some restrictive licence (in any
shape or form) such as the GPL.

For anything non-public domain, you have violated my trust, and that of many
others by not stating a particular licence.
