Rich,

I know I haven't really contributed much to the committee although I have
offered to do so in the past. However, I recently joined the Computer
Science department at Brigham Young University. I will see if the
university wantst to join the foundation. I certainly can't afford it it
mysefl because of financial hardship over the past year. However, I am
planning to start contributing more in the near future as I have some ideas
and personal interests in extending the AIML language. What I am trying to
do is create tools for the the supervised semi-automated generation of AIML
categories from unstructured text. This is something I am planning to do
with some folks from the linguistics department at our university.

So a short answer to your inquiry, is yes I plan to join and will try to
convince my department to pay the suggested fee. However, I need some time
to find out what I need to do get approval as I just joined less than 6
weeks ago the university.
