[alicebot-archcomm] More on: Looking for <fetch> in all the wrong places?

Ernest,

Just to be sure I am clear on my wish list for fetch functionality,
consider my business model of how all of this could work: the AIML
processing runs on a different server from the server that manages the
"fetch data" processing, which sometimes relies on contacting one or more
additional servers to extract needed data. The "fetch data" processing
server does whatever it must and in whatever language is best to collect
the data and to package it and deliver it to the AIML server through a
simple and clean <fetch> interface.

That is why I have been so focused on such an easy to use and universally
applied <fetch> interface.

Under this model, any AIML application may quickly and easily rely on other
servers to do the bulk of the work. Specialized tasks can be distributed
throughout the world. Now, developers of "fetch" applications can charge
(or barter) separately for their offerings.
