The only reason why I think it's a good idea is because I get the feeling
people are afraid to ask AIML related questions on a developer list and a
lot of the topics in the general forum are often difficult to follow for a
newcomer. This could easily frighten people off from posting simple
questions relating to their own bot developement.
if I little redirection could prevent this, then I wouldn't mind it. It has
to be at least a few of us doing it to be able to maintain it for the next
few weeks. Untill the other lists have enough posts and users for them to be
able to continiue on their own.

This strikes me as a good suggestion, Anne. I grew weary of redirecting
messages after all the complaints about being the "Thought Police" and so
on. Maybe it would be more persuasive if there were more of us doing it
more often. (In other words, a bigger force of Thought Police :-)
Actually, I am probably one of the most egregious violators of the Off-Topic
posting on alicebot mailing lists. This is one reason I am trying to get
together the more opinionated drwallace.org
