[alicebot-archcomm] Attribute var

I agree that AIML should be useful to the HTML and Basic crowd, and even
those of lesser means. I also want it to be as complete in as simple a
format as possible. That would tie as a general case into the posix thread.
The old design paradox : Powerful, safe, easy to use; pick 2 of 3. I like
power and easy to use.

Quick to learn is also good. If you can add simple power without breaking
easy-to-learn, or at least easy-to-learn the core 80% so you're hooked, then
that would be best. Otherwise you get lots of personal sites, and lots of
individually produced content, without functionality. Imagine if the web was
only HTML. It would still be useful, fun and important, but it would not be
"The Big Thing", without indexes, search engines, and applications. You
would just have a static web. But without all that static, easy to generate
stuff, there would not be anything to index, analyze or trade.

Can one language met both requirements?

On an aside, is AIML acting like a treaded language like Forth when you
treat categories like pseudo functions via sari?

Enjoy,
Kino

Oh my god! Yikes!

However LISP works ought to have nothing at all to do with how we
structure AIML syntax. To even discuss LISP here frightens me about the
likelihood of AIML ever being anything but a fun toy for computer
science geeks.

AIML must be useful for people whose only knowledge of computer
programming is HTML and maybe a BASIC class in high school.
