I personally wouldn't want to make another comitee. Let's discuss it on the
AC or the general lists. I have a feeling that very often, e-mail is quite
inadequate for communicating visions or even simple concepts (unless you're
a very skilled writer, which I'm not).

I personally would like AIML to be a 'thin' interface layer between the
human and the computer - basically translating user input into a computer
understandable form (i.e. trying to extract the semantics of the user input
from the NL syntax). Any additional functionality should be in the
compentence of the actual AIML application, and not in the scope of AIML
itself. Things that I personally consider outside of scope include native
database interactions, scripting and any form of command and control, voice
io, graphical io (like facial expressions), moods, bot interconnection. I'm
not sure where mathematical expressions come into this. I'd like to keep the
basic system simple, so that the basics are easily learned by everyone,
whereas the additional functions of the different systems are of concern
only to those who use them. (like Noel said, AIML interchangeability isn't
an issue for me when it comes to these advanced functions).
