[alicebot-archcomm] alicebot.org server status

It's not really true that Noel kept everything to himself. I used to be the
CVS maintainer before the december attack (which, BTW, started the tight
security measures) and, while I haven't been much use lately (sorry), I
still am.

BTW, how many people in the past year have volunteered to do webmastering,
or help Noel with it? I don't mean asking for privileges so that they could
do something (or just have the acess rights), but real contributions. Like
saying - "hey Noel, that page needs a new make up, here's what I did" or "We
need a forum, here are some scripts to get it started, could you add them,
Noel?"

My personal opinion is - keep the sunlitsurf server (that is, if someone can
pay for it) - like you said, they've done an excellent job. I've seen
several opensource projects slowly break down because they always moved from
one free server to another (or had been moved, usually because traffic was
too high to be 'free').

The fact that the new server is easily acessible in person isn't really that
important. How many times did people "suddenly, for no particular reason"
change their mind?
