You may not need to spend the extra cash for a CPA. Check the yellow pages
and call around for a reasonable tax account.
If you cleaned up your financials, added that to Noel's business plan, put
together a few research projects, and demonstrated how this foundation can
to contribute something back to the society, you might be able to bring on
some corporate sponsors and get some grants. Although, it will be much more
difficult to attract businesses sponsor ship as long as the foundations icon
is at battle with UC (business tend to be fairly conservitive).
I think you could be very effective if you got out and sold the AIML
message, and competed for grants. There are lots of good ideas on this list
that could be grant candidates. The idea that Chris had about a universal
language is a good example (although I think it would be tricky to get the
whole world adopt it). It reminded me of Chomsky's Universal Lanagage
theory.
You could keep an eye on grant solicitations and match them up to the ideas
on this list, write up and manage the proposals. Like many others, I've
always wanted to be able to do some kind of grant research thing, but the
paperwork is too scarry. Having someone who is familiar in this area is what
team work is all about.
As well, if you wern't in court all the time you would have more time for
this kind of high-value stuff, and unfinished paperwork like "Richard
Wallace does have the paperwork so if anyone can pick up the process it
would be appreciated by the present governing officers/directors." All this
and you could still slip in a few numbers!
Hope there is something useful here.
