To clarify: my sister's identification with and empathy for the bot in her 
office was not based upon it being physically realistic or a 'cute' little 
factotum, rather it was a function of the bot's being able to differentiate between 
phrases and intentions and present itself as an intelligent 'being'...for 
example when she asked it if it would like a cookie, it asked her if she meant 
the file that contains information about the user on a computer or the edible 
kind.
Should bots be exempted from humane treatment if they are deemed 'stupid' or 
are they the new marginalized class?
