I just can't help thinking about a test that was run
in Sweden some time ago.
Its aim was to check out people's behaviour when
dealing with robots. The subjects were told to wait
for somebody in an office to interview them. Instead,
a little robot showed up shortly after asking them for
some help (please put a cup of coffe on my tray). Some
did what the robot asked them to do, some put
something else on the tray.
When asked why they did not do what the robot asked
them, the majority answered that they felt somehow
compelled to test the robot's intelligence (perhaps
they were expecting the robot to say stgh like: I said
coffee, you &#+@%!)

I guess a lot of people behaves like that when
chatting with bots as well. That and plus, some people
really are shallow and/or have too much time on their
hands...

I believe a good AI should be able to recognize
precisely when a four letter word is used unmotivated,
when the user is being rude to it, and to behave like
a real person would, that is cut the conversation...
