Rich,
I think that having sex with a robot is akin to what Jimmy Carter
referred to as having "lust in his heart," but the implications range
from simply spilling one's seed on the rocks to perhaps losing interest
in human partners or just neglecting them. But this need not be the
case.
However, since a robot is not human, and a dirty magazine is not human,
then if fantasizing with a dirty magazine is not cheating then having
sex with a robot is not cheating.
As for having cybersex with real humans - that's even more grey area
there. Since there is a potential for corporeal coitus, if the 2 (or
more) met in person, then complications may arise.
For real human beings, the intentions of the participants make a
difference. It is assumed that a robot has no intention of breaking up
an existing partnership or relationship, but that is not to say that a
robot could not be programmed to be a home wrecker.
"Darling, I'm leaving you for another robot named ALICE. I think she
understands me better than you..."
Robby.
