Well, it's not related to bots exactly, but I profess fear of 'Lilbwana', so to
assauge my fears, can I read you guys a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke? (he makes
me feel better when I am scared)
As per the translation of M.D. Herter Norton, (my favorite)
Lovesong
How shall I withold my soul so that
it does not touch on yours? How shall I
uplift it over you to other things?
Ah willingly would I by some
lost thing in the dark give it harbor
in an unfamiliar silent place
that does not vibrate on when your depths vibrate.
Yet everything that touches us, you and me,
takes us together as a bow's stroke does,
that out of two strings draws one single voice.
Upon what instrument are we two spanned?
And what player has us in his hand?
O sweet song.
The German is so lovely too, only I do not speak it, can read it, but must rely
on good translators to understand it. I do love the sound of it though.
Foolishly feeling a bit threatened, and afraid, I make these recommendations:
see the movies:
Alien Visitor (new release, and Australian)
Brother From Another Planet (old, '80s probably)
Wag the Dog
Logan's Run
Read:
"Letters to a Young Poet" Rainer Maria Rilke, translated by M.D. Herter
Norton
anything SCHNEIER. <grin> "Secrets and Lies" , "Advanced Cryptography", esp:
counterpane newsletter.
Neil Stephenson's FLAG (Fiber Optic Link Around the Globe, Wired magazine) (
our international phone com!)
ps: If Robby won't read Schneier, would someone please read it to him?
<laugh, to the tune of 'ethel the aarvark goes quantity surveying, or the 'sale
of two two titties'?'>
