It's been requested so here it is: a brief introduction, for anyone =
who's=20
interested :)

My name is Christo Fogelberg, I'm a 19 year old New Zealander, studying=20
computer science at Otago University, and intensely interested in AI (I =
have=20
been for a few years). I can't say I know a lot yet - I understand the=20
theory behind some of the basic symbolic and neural approaches, and I'm=20
playing around with back prop nets in C++ - but I'm keen to learn more.

This AI interest also includes the social and ethical implications of AI =
-=20
which I believe this list to be about. What it will mean when/if we =
actually=20
achieve an artificial sentience I'm not sure. I have some opinions, but =
I=20
think most would agree with me if I said that the changes will be =
massive,=20
and hence worth serious thought.

That about does it I think - I can't really think of anything else =
pertinent=20
to add, so I'll end it here :)
