Oddly not true in the case of ALICE and AIML.  I've often said that ALICE
may be the first free software project developed mostly by the sick,
disabled, unemployed, retired and "entrepreneurs".  Plenty of poor people
are enjoying ALICE while the rich remain blissfully ignorant!
