True. But remember that 99.9999% of people who buy "legal" guns don't=20
kill people either by choice or mistake. The people you bring up more=20
likely bought their gun through the black market, something that gun=20
control really has no impact on. If the gun had never been invented=20
or mass produced then I can see the point in saying that such weapons=20
have no place in hands of law citizens. It's a sad fact that guns do=20
exist and are purchased illegally for the specific intent of use in=20
criminal activity, and the same sad fact makes it important for=20
people to have the right to defend themselves against the possible=20
threat of a home invasion or robbery with the same level of force as=20
the assailant is using. Imagine your family's safety is threatened by=20
a home invader who's glock model 31 was purchased illegally from an=20
importer. Now imagine that we live in a world where owning legal=20
firearms has been banned. This means that an alternate to your=20
scenario of being chased by a baseball bat exists in having you be=20
forced to protect your life with that same bat against a criminal=20
with a gun. I'd like to have no place in a world where I'm not=20
allowed the option of defending myself.

P.S.
I don't own a gun, but am I skilled in Chun Kuk Do, Tai Chi Chuan,=20
and Kendo. All are can be used to kill someone, either by fist or=20
sword, but I'll be damned if I would want to use them against an=20
armed and aimed attacker.
