While you make a somewhat valid point, there are a few things that you
conviently overlooked:

>If a gun did not exist

It would be great if guns didn't exist, but in fact they do exist. Its =
now
in the hands of the people to manage those guns, and to do the right =
thing
and no "act dumb" with them. The Japanese and other Oriental cultures =
know
a dozen ways to kill a person with just their bare hands. Do you hear a =
lot
about it? Heck no ya don't. Why? They know the knowledge is there, and
they respect it. It is up the people of this country, and other =
countries
for that matter to become knowledgeable and intelligent around these =
things.
Same goes with bombs, cars, knives, running with scissors (its evil, =
trust
me) and pretty much anything else in the world. You can kill someone =
with a
rock. Rocks are never thought of the problem though, right? The =
problem
is the person who threw the rock. Same with guns. Guns weren't =
invented
for kids to play with or gangsters to tote in the
obviously-too-big-for-my-skinny-bum pants. (Yes they were for war, but
that's beside the point, and beyond the scope of this response).

>then again those burglers and theives wouldn't have guns,

They wouldn't need guns. Assault can be committed with just verbal
intimidation. When you make someone fear for their own life, whether a =
gun
to the head, a knife to the throat, or just saying "I'm gonna kill you, =
if
you don't (blah)". This also paves the way for aggravated assault =
(Assault
with physical contact)

>Also some times its not even all of the persons fault when he kills =
someone
and
>(not knowing its power to take lives)

That is just flat out bullshit (Pardon the language) When you or anyone
picks up a gun, you can't say that you have never heard of a gun killing
someone. Ignorance is not even a factor here. You (a general public =
you,
not Wes in specific) know damn well what you are doing. You know a gun
fires shards of metal. you know that metal can hit someone. you know =
that
when that metal hits someone, they can and quite frequently die. Would =
you
walk around with a grenade with the pin out? I hope not.

>accidently pull the hair trigger some guns have

Pulling the trigger of a gun is not the problem. The problem lies in
consciously taking off the safety, putting your hand on the grip, =
raising
the gun, and pointing it at someone. You can't honestly tell me that =
the
gun made you do that. You, the one controlling the gun, made all those
prior choices. If you hadn't, the gun would have shot into the =
ground...or
better yet, a holdster.

Again, I agree with "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

Sorry to make this learning list a political debate, but I don't talk =
much,
and when I do, I try to have something intelligent to say :)
